Stainless Steel 420
Material Notes:420HC stainless steel which is a type of martensitic stainless steel is a high carbon steel which is quite temperamental. It can be brittle or very hard due to its toughness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance properties. It also contains 13-14% chromium along with silicon and molybdenum making it pliable and increasing its life.
Applications:Steel 420 is an all-purpose material that has numerous capabilities which include strength, durability and resistance to corrosion. This is well suited for usage in cutlery, precision knife blades, surgical equipment, needle valves, scissor shear blades, hand tools, and other things that need a sharp edge as it is reliable, wear resistant, and has edge retention.
