416 Stainless Steel
Material Notes: Stainless Steel 416 is a free-machining martensitic stainless steel having 12-13% chromium which provides very good machinability and heat-treated strength. It is well suited for economical production while also for demanding applications, though its corrosion resistance is moderate making it unsuitable for severe or marine conditions.
Applications: Stainless Steel 416 is ideal for applications requiring excellent machinability, such as valves, shafts, gears, fasteners, and parts for washing machines or automatic screw machines.
